Boosting a post versus running an ad

The Boost button is the quickest way to put money behind a post. A planned ad campaign takes longer to set up. Both have a place, and knowing which to use saves budget.

When boosting is enough

Boosting suits simple, short goals: letting more local people see a post that is already doing well, announcing an event, or reminding followers about an offer. It is quick and needs little setup.

When a campaign is better

If you want a specific result, such as messages, form fills or website visits, a campaign gives you more control. You choose the objective, the audience, the placements and the creative, and you can test one version against another.

What good campaigns have in common

  • One clear objective, not three
  • An audience described by location, interests and behaviour, not guesswork
  • Creative made for the placement, such as a vertical video for stories and reels
  • A landing page or chat flow that continues the message
  • A review after the first few days, then adjustments

Distribution matters

Great content that nobody sees does nothing for the business. That is why we treat creative and distribution as one job. Content gets attention, and a well-planned campaign puts it in front of the right people.
